Pastel Artists.Ca

Pastel Artists.Ca was founded in 1989 by a small group of eager pastellists as Pastel Artists of Ontario, Canada. The name changed in 2003 to Pastel Artists Canada to reflect our changing membership. We incorporated as a not-for-profit organization under the name Pastel Artists.Ca, still expressed as "Pastel Artists Canada". We are a member society of the International Association of Pastel Societies and a sister society to PSEC, Pastel Artists of Eastern Canada, which qualifies us to participate in their activities as full members.

Membership

Membership in Pastel Artists.Ca is open to all who work in the medium of dry pastel. Members may work towards achieving Signature and Master Pastelist status. Our Purpose

Our aim is to promote public appreciation of the renaissance in Dry Pastel, to improve the skills of artists working in this fine art medium and to promote fellowship among pastel artists.

To that end, we paint together, indoors and out. We sponsor workshops led by
well-known international instructors and our own experienced member-teachers.

PAC sponsors two exhibitions a year: an Open Juried Show, and an unjuried Members-only Show. The locations of these shows vary from year to year. This web site, www.pastelartists.ca, and our colourful quarterly Newsletter "Purely Pastel", which is available to members in a high-quality paper edition or by email, are both kept well stocked with member news, educational information about pastel and opportunities available to pastel artists.
